ESSENTIALS FOR THE SABI WOMAN’S KITCHEN
The “Woman wey Sabi” is the smart, intelligent, creative, tenacious, productive Nigerian woman who effectively juggles the role of Incubator, Wet Nurse, Nurse, Partner’s best friend, Family Accountant/Economist, Commissioner for Budget& Planning, Commissioner for Health, Family Chef, Dietician, Drycleaner and a host of other varied roles. In tune with the harsh economic climate, in many instances, she is the primary provider for the family.
In these austere and economically challenging times, the creativity and resource managerial capacity of the Woman Wey Sabi is severely tasked in view of scarce resources.
Despite all these challenges, she has a primary responsibility to ensure to keep her family healthy, boost their immune system so they don’t fall sick, so that her growing children have access to the best food and nutrient mix to enable their brains and bodies develop and function maximally within the limited resources at her family’s disposal
To this end, an intervention tagged: Nutritious & Affordable Essentials for the “Sabi Woman’s” Kitchen will be featured on all Social Media handles of the Ministry of Women Affairs & Social Inclusion at least once every week starting from today, the 24th of February 2025
Some of the features on this intervention will be nutritious and affordable food recipes, showcasing nutrient composition of various foods items, common and easily accessible food items, vegetables and fruits which are easily accessible, nutritious enough to build up the immune systems of our families and also cheap enough to fit into the average family’s budget
